Brigadier General Nishat Jubaida was conferred with the rank badge of Major General on Thursday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed adorned the female army officer with the rank badge at the 10th Tigers' reunion of East Bengal Regiment of Bangladesh Army in Chattogram.
The premier also addressed the reunion held in the East Bengal Regiment Centre (EBRC) here.
Besides, the PM witnessed a spectacular parade of a smartly-turned out contingent of East Bengal Regiment followed by a colourful cultural programme.
