Dhaka: A 26-year-old physician named ABM Abid Hasan Jisan was discovered dead in a residence located in the Shahbagh area of the capital on Monday. Jisan, who hailed from Sadar upazila in the Chuadanga district, was living in a flat at Eureka Saleha Palace on Habibullah Road with his colleagues.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Jisan was working as a physician at Popular Hospital Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi. He had completed his MBBS from Kushtia Medical College during the 2018-19 session. His colleague, Hafizur, reported that their roommate, Dipto Sinha, found Jisan unconscious in bed around 2:30 pm.

Dipto mentioned that they rushed Jisan to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead. He also noted his lack of awareness about whether Jisan had consumed anything before his death. Additionally, Dipto revealed that Jisan had been suffering from hypertension and was last seen speaking with his family earlier that morning.

Inspector Md Faruk, the in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed that the body is currently at the hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
