Dhaka: Petrobangla and Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for monitoring GPS location of gas meters and metering stations management system. Petrobangla Secretary Md Amjad Hossain and Lieutenant Colonel ASM Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury of BMTF signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at Petrobangla board room here in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Petrobangla Chairman Md Rezanur Rahman and Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF) Managing Director Major General Md Nahid Asgar witnessed the MoU signing ceremony. The BMTF would implement ‘Designing, Development, Implementation, Commissioning and Maintenance of GPS Location Based Gas Meters and Metering Stations Monitoring Management System’ in the gas production and marketing companies under the Petrobangla through the MoU.
It was stated that through the implementation of the contracted project, the pressure, temperature, and quantity of gas used in industrial establishments under the distribution companies will be ensured digitally. The BMTF will also prevent illegal entry into the RMS room, solve pulse missing problems, and prevent excessive load usage under the MoU.
The MoU will also facilitate billing system automation through the use of AI/LLM technology, and area-based gas supply and category-based usage will be possible under the MoU implementation. The event was attended by Petrobangla directors, senior officials of BMTF, Managing Director of TGTDPLC, and other senior officials.
