Khulna: BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency and former Member of Parliament Nazrul Islam Manju stated that the nation holds high expectations for the impending election, particularly following the July Uprising. He emphasized his belief that this election would pave the way for a people’s government in a fascism-free Bangladesh and restore functionality to the national parliament.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manju made these remarks during a morning door-to-door campaign where he distributed leaflets in Sheikhpara Bazar, Lohapatty, and nearby areas of the district. At approximately 10:30 am, Manju addressed a courtyard meeting organized by the Ward Election Committee at Joragate, where he served as the chief guest.
Continuing his campaign efforts, Manju visited the Khulna Boro Bazar area at around 11:30 am, engaging with local businessmen and distributing leaflets. He expressed confidence that the electorate would once again rally behind the BNP’s electoral symbol, the sheaf of paddy, turning the election into a ‘vote revolution.’
The campaign was attended by several notable figures, including Jafarullah Khan Sacchu, Professor Arifuzzaman Apu, Asaduzzaman Murad, Iqbal Hossain Khokon, Hasanur Rashid Miraj, Mohibuzzaman Kachi, Ekramul Haque Helal, Mahbub Hasan, alongside leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organizations.
