Mymensingh: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today stated that the people of Bangladesh have decisively chosen to support a leadership that is grounded in justice, familiarity, and proven effectiveness.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Rahman addressed a rally at the Circuit House ground, emphasizing that individuals who advocate for justice, truth, and fairness, and who align with the ideals of Madina, are the ones the populace now wants to trust with governing the country. He remarked that people have witnessed the repercussions of traditional politics and expressed that the youth, along with mothers and sisters, reject this antiquated approach. Dr Rahman articulated a collective desire for a new Bangladesh characterized by safety, justice, and dignity.

He further described the forthcoming election as a pivotal moment for the nation, highlighting that it represents an opportunity to realign the country’s trajectory. Dr Rahman mentioned two significant votes in the election, with the first focusing on fulfilling the aspirations of the populace, particularly the youth and women, signifying a ‘Yes’ in the referendum. He elaborated that ‘Yes’ symbolizes freedom, while ‘No’ represents subjugation, urging the people of Mymensingh to choose freedom.

Dr Rahman pointed out that despite Bangladesh’s rich resources, the nation has not achieved the dignified status it deserves. Citing Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, he noted that while the institution was expected to revolutionize agriculture, it faced budgetary and support constraints. Nonetheless, he acknowledged its contributions and pledged that under a justice-based government, the university would evolve into a world-class establishment.

Addressing women’s issues, Dr Rahman assured no compromise on their dignity, promising a secure environment in public spaces, workplaces, and educational institutions. He also commented on youth employment, emphasizing their demand for jobs over unemployment allowances, and committed to providing skills and employment opportunities to every young individual.

The event, chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami Metropolitan Ameer Maulana Kamrul Ahsan Emrul, also featured speeches by Jamaat central publicity secretary and Muktagachha constituency candidate Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand, Mymensingh district Ameer Abdul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer Kamrul Hasan Milon, Asaduzzaman Sohel, Metropolitan Secretary Shahidullah Kaisar, and other candidates from Mymensingh and Netrakona districts.
