Paturia-Daulatdia Ferry Movement Resumes After 6 Hours of Suspension

Paturia: The ferry movement between the Paturia-Daulatdia river route has resumed after a six-hour suspension due to dense fog disruption, as reported by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat sources. The suspension began at 12:50 am on Thursday when the river bed was blanketed by dense fog.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury stated that several ferries were affected by the suspension. Four ferries-Kopoti, Shahid Borkot, Khan Jahan Ali, and Bonolota-were stationed at Paturia Ghat. Meanwhile, six ferries-Kumilla, Vigar, Keramat Ali, Hasna Hena, Gouri, and Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman-were at Daulatdia Ghat. Additionally, four ferries-Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin, Bir Shreshtha Jahangir, Golam Maoula, and Shah Enayetpuri-were anchored in the middle of the river Padma.



The ferry movement resumed at 6:45 am on Thursday once the fog cleared. In a related event, ferry operations were also suspended for 6.5 hours from 1 am to 7:30 am on the Aricha-Kazirhat route along the Padma River.
