Parliament back in session; to continue till July 4

The 18th session of the current parliament that began at 5pm on Sunday will continue till July 4.

The decision came at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the current parliament held at the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday. Committee Chairman and Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the meeting.

The session will start after Asr prayer on each working day.

The meeting also decided that the Speaker may extend or reduce the working days of the current session.

Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Huq Inu, Anisul Huq, GM Quader, Anisul Islam Mahmud, Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury and Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan attended the meeting.

The Meeting decided to hold a general discussion on Padma Bridge on June 8 while Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will place the proposed budget on June 9 at 3pm.

The discussion on the Supplementary Budget will be held on June 12 while it will be passed on June 13.

The Finance Bill for the 2022-23 fiscal will be passed on June 29 while the appropriation bill will be passed on June 30.
