Panchagarh:Temperatures in Panchagarh, often referred to as the daughter of the Himalayas, have continued to decline, enhancing the onset of winter in the region. This northern district has consistently recorded the lowest temperatures in Bangladesh for the past week.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Tentulia Weather Observation Centre noted a minimum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius at 9.00 am today. The previous day, the temperature was slightly lower at 15.4 degrees Celsius at the same time.
The weather observation centre reported that temperatures earlier in the week were 16.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, 17 degrees on Sunday, 17.7 degrees on Saturday, 18.5 degrees on Friday, and 18 degrees on Thursday. Over the past week, temperatures have fallen by 2.5 degrees Celsius, indicating an increasing chill across the district.
Despite bright sunshine throughout the day, the weather changes after sunset, with the cold feeling intensifying. Chilly winds pick up strength at night and continue until dawn, accompanied by fog visible in open areas and along roads in the early morning hours.
Jitendranath Roy, Acting Officer of the Tentulia Weather Observation Centre, confirmed the gradual decline in temperature, noting that the feeling of cold is more pronounced at night and early morning, while daytime sunshine helps keep the weather relatively milder.
