Dhaka: Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka Imran Haider paid his maiden courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on Thursday. During the meeting, both sides expressed their appreciation for the recent engagements and exchange of high-level ministerial visits between the two countries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these exchanges included the visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Bangladesh in August 2025. The foreign ministry’s press release highlighted the successful holding of the 6th Foreign Secretary-level Bilateral Consultations in Dhaka in April 2025. Both parties also welcomed the upcoming 9th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission, which is scheduled for October 27, 2025, in Dhaka after a considerable gap.
The adviser expressed satisfaction over the recent progress made in several areas of cooperation between the two countries. This includes the simplification of visa procedures and the resumption o
f air connectivity. They discussed various bilateral issues and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration across multiple sectors.
The foreign affairs adviser assured the high commissioner of all possible cooperation during his tenure in Bangladesh.
