Pahela Boishak celebrated in Kushtia

Pahela Boishak was celebrated in the district with great enthusiasm today. To celebrate the Bangla New Year, a Mangal Shobhajatra was brought out from district Collectorate Building premises that paraded different streets of the town this morning. Later a cultural function was held on the collectorate building premises. Folk songs and Baul songs were presented at the function. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ehtasham Reza and Police Super AHM Abdur Rakib were present among others during Mangal Shobhajatra. Pahela Boishak was also celebrated at Kushtia Govt College. The college organized a discussion marking the day today. With Principal of Kushtia Govt College Shishir Kumar Rai in the chair, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif spoke as chief guest. Source: Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha
