Dhaka: A total of 485,184 voters have registered to cast their ballots through the 'Postal Vote BD' app for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this registration includes expatriate Bangladeshis residing in various countries, government employees on election duties, and those currently outside their constituencies.
Data from the Election Commission (EC) website, as of 11:30 am, reported that 455,545 male and 29,637 female voters have successfully registered via the app. Among expatriates, Saudi Arabia has the highest number of registrations with 122,401 voters. This is followed by Qatar with 44,543, Oman with 32,741, and Malaysia with 31,497. Other notable countries include the United Arab Emirates with 24,286, the United States with 23,032, and the United Kingdom with 17,078 registered voters.
In Bangladesh, 52,994 voters signed up under the 'in-country postal vote' category. District-wise, Cumilla leads with 50,936 registrations, followed by Dhaka with 43,881 and Chattogram with 42,066. Noakhali and Sylhet also have significant numbers, with 29,523 and 21,573 registrations respectively.
Examining constituency-specific data reveals that Feni-3 has the highest number of registered voters at 7,917, while Chattogram-15 follows with 7,333. Other constituencies with notable registration figures include Noakhali-1 with 7,131, Cumilla-10 with 6,830, and Noakhali-3 with 6,576.
