Dhaka: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the successful issuance of more than 29 lakh Apostille certificates since the inception of Bangladesh's e-Apostille service on March 30, 2025. This substantial achievement marks a significant milestone in the country's effort to streamline the legal authentication process for important documents.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Apostille certificates encompass a wide array of essential documents, including those related to education, police clearance, medical matters, marriage, birth, work experience, and national identity cards. This digital service, accessible via the 'MyGov' platform, has notably reduced the inconvenience for citizens, saving them both time and money.
On Tuesday, an inter-ministerial meeting was convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to further strengthen the acceptance of Bangladeshi certificates authenticated through the e-Apostille process. The meeting was chaired by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and attended by senior officials from 26 government ministries, divisions, directorates, and agencies.
The discussions during the meeting focused on reinforcing the verification of original certificates, integrating relevant issuing authorities into the e-Apostille process, and enhancing coordination between the concerned agencies and Bangladesh missions abroad. The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining the international acceptance of Bangladeshi certificates and ensuring the swift and reliable delivery of services to citizens.
