Satkhira: Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui announced today that over 2000 members of the force are actively providing security to Puja Mandaps across all frontiers to ensure peaceful celebrations of the sacred Durga Puja.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DG stated that appropriate measures have already been implemented by the government and the home ministry to facilitate a peaceful and festive celebration of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival for Hindus. These remarks were made during his visit to the Hatkhola Sarbojonin Puja Mondir at Bhomra Land Port in the district.
Siddiqui highlighted that the measures taken by the government have enabled all to celebrate the Puja in a festive manner. Following this, the BGB chief inaugurated a programme to provide pure drinking water at Kaikhali SR High School in Shyamnagar, Satkhira district, aiming to alleviate the acute drinking water shortage faced by locals.
He further mentioned that the BGB has been operating at borders as a symbol of security and trust for the people residing in frontier areas. Senior BGB officers were also present during these events.
