Dhaka: Aminul Haque, the BNP candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency and a former national football team captain, issued a stern warning today against the presence of outsiders and any efforts to create chaos in the area. Speaking at a gathering in Mirpur-12 and nearby camp areas, Aminul emphasized that such activities would not be tolerated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aminul accused a rival candidate of bringing outsiders into different areas of the constituency. He highlighted that according to the election code of conduct, only registered voters of the area are allowed to stay within the constituency. Aminul informed that many unfamiliar faces have been spotted in opposing rallies and processions, prompting him to alert the returning officer and law enforcement agencies.
Aminul Haque, who has a deep-rooted connection with the area, assured constituents of his commitment to addressing local issues. He expressed confidence in his plans, stating, "I grew up here and know the problems of every resident. I am not giving empty promises; I have a concrete plan based on my experience. If the 'Sheaf of the Paddy' is voted to form the government, all plans will be implemented."
Addressing the nearly 400,000 registered voters, Aminul Haque urged them to participate actively in the upcoming polls. He appealed for voter turnout, emphasizing, "Your single vote can help establish a government accountable to the people."
Commenting on the current pre-election environment, Aminul described it as satisfactory and noted that both his team and law enforcement agencies remain alert. He assured that any attempts to incite unrest or create chaos would be addressed firmly with the support of local residents.
During the meeting, local residents presented various issues they face, and Aminul took the opportunity to engage with them and distribute leaflets detailing his development plans. The event saw significant participation from leaders and activists of the local BNP and its affiliates.
