Basail:Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan urged the opposition not to become a disruptive force by organizing unruly movements similar to those of the ousted Awami League.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister accused the opposition of echoing the language and tactics of the Awami League by declaring their intention to bring down the government immediately. He mentioned that a one-point demand would soon be announced by the opposition and questioned the necessity of the government's downfall.
The minister made these comments as the chief guest at a procession and protest rally organized by Basail upazila BNP, which was aimed at opposing efforts to destabilize the country through planned acts of violence.
Ahmed Azam Khan alleged that the opposition was engaging in their movement after making compromises with the ousted fascists and the Awami League under the cover of darkness. He highlighted that after forming the government, the Prime Minister had committed to building Bangladesh as a democratic and prosperous nation.
The event was presided over by Basail upazila BNP Acting President Mamun Al Jahangir. Other speakers at the rally included District BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shaheen, former Joint Secretary Abul Kashem Mia, upazila BNP General Secretary Nurnabi Abu Hayat Khan Nabu, former president Enamul Karim Atal, Paurashava BNP President Aktaruzzaman Tuhin, and General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Pintu.
