Chattogram: The six-day long joint exercise titled 'Operation Pacific Angel 25-3', involving the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the US Pacific Air Force (PAF), concluded yesterday at the BAF Base Zahurul Haque in Chattogram. The exercise was conducted under the direction of the Armed Forces Division (AFD) and managed by the Bangladesh Air Force, as highlighted in a press release from Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Assistant Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal (Ops) Javed Tanvir Khan delivered the closing speech and participated in a photo session with participants from both countries. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the US Embassy, senior military and civil officials of the US Pacific Air Force, and senior officials from the three services.
The exercise, which began on September 14, 2025, at the Air Force Base Zahurul Haque, is part of the US Pacific Air Force's annual training exercises held in various countries around the world. The primary aim of 'Operation Pacific Angel 25-3' was to train the air force in organizing different exercise programs to ensure the optimal use of BAF helicopters and transport aircraft in emergencies and adverse situations.
The operation saw the participation of a BAF C-130J transport aircraft, an Mi-17 helicopter, and two C-130J aircraft from the Pacific Air Force. Additionally, 150 members of the BAF and 92 members of the US Pacific Air Force took part in the exercise, along with members of the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy.
The press release emphasized that such joint exercises facilitate the exchange of professional skills and experiences between the air forces of the two nations, enhance interoperability, strengthen strategic cooperation, and further build the bond of trust and confidence. Furthermore, these exercises lay the foundation for a mutual and continuous relationship between the two countries, enabling them to serve local communities by coordinating with air force doctors, engineers, and logistic experts.
