Dhaka: Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Akhtar Ahmed has confirmed that citizens who reached the age of 18 by October 31, 2025, and successfully registered, will be included in the national voter list. This announcement was made during a media briefing at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ahmed emphasized that individuals who missed the October 31 registration deadline will not feature in the updated voter list. He highlighted October 31 as the definitive cut-off date, leaving no room for post-deadline enrollments.
The Election Commission released the finalized voter list on November 18, ahead of the 13th national parliament elections, scheduled for February. The latest data indicates that Bangladesh's registered voters now total 127,695,183, comprising 64,814,907 males, 62,879,042 females, and 1,234 transgender (Hijra) voters.
On the announcement day, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed presented the final voter list and confirmed the inclusion of all eligible citizens who turned 18 by the specified date. He noted a 2.29 percent increase in male voters and a 4.16 percent increase in female voters.
