Dhaka: Applications for admission to all government secondary schools across the country, including Dhaka, in 2026 will have to be submitted online only. This instruction was given in a recent notification, signed by Director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Professor Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification stated that students from class I to class IX will be admitted to all government secondary schools across the country, including Dhaka city, in the 2026 academic year. No admission form will be distributed from the schools.
The application fee for admission in the academic year 2026 has been fixed at Taka 100 (one hundred), which can be paid only through SMS from Teletalk prepaid mobile. Applicants will be provided with a list of Thana-based educational institutions during the institution selection process at the time of application. In this case, candidates can select a maximum of five schools in each application in order of preference based on availability.
However, the notification mentioned that if both shifts are selected in a double shift school, two choices (02 school choices) will be considered as having been made.
