Satkhira: One person was killed and three others were injured in a road accident in front of Jonaki Cinema Hall in Kalaroa upazila here this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Ashraf Hossen, 50, son of Nurul Islam, a resident of Narayanpur village in Balli union under Satkhira Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, eyewitnesses reported that the accident occurred when a cattle-laden truck collided with another vehicle as it reached the area in front of Jonaki Cinema Hall. The collision left four people injured, including Ashraf Hossen.
Local residents took immediate action and rushed the critically injured Ashraf to Satkhira Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Police officials, including Sub-Inspector Sekandar Ali of Kalaroa Police Station, recovered the body and sent it to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
