Jashore: A man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at the Afra intersection on the Chowgachha-Jashore road in Chowgachha upazila of the district this evening. The deceased was identified as Humayun Kabir Ripon, 45, a resident of Bariyali village in the upazila. He was an army personnel stationed at Jashore Cantonment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, quoting local residents, police said the accident occurred when two motorcycles collided head-on at the intersection. Ripon died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries.
The injured — Hasan, 40, Rahul, 20, and Tuhin, 35 — were rescued by locals and taken to Jashore General Hospital for treatment.
