Jhalakathi: A man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in the Khejurtala area under Nalchiti upazila here today. The deceased was M Bakiyar Molla, 35, a cleaner of Barishal Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 6 am in the aforementioned area when a CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a truck, leaving three CNG passengers injured. Abdus Salam, officer-in-charge of Nalchiti police station, reported that the injured were sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barisal, where Bakiyar Molla succumbed to his injuries.
Later, injured Ariful Islam was shifted to Barisal CMH after receiving emergency treatment, while the CNG driver Babu was sent to Dhaka for better treatment, the officer-in-charge said.
