Rangamati: A man was killed and another injured in a head-on collision between a covered van and a CNG-run autorickshaw in the Betbunia Chairman Ghata area of the district on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was CNG driver Hasan Mia, 22, son of Md. Jahangir Hossain, a resident of Lalmohan, Barishal. Hasan was traveling to Chattogram from Rangamati with raw materials.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Chattogram-Rangamati road when a covered van collided with the CNG-run autorickshaw, resulting in injuries to both the CNG driver and its passenger. Inspector Md. Ishaq of Kawkhali Police Outpost reported that the injured were taken to Raozan Hospital in critical condition, where the doctor on duty declared Hasan dead.
