A motorcycle rider was killed and another injured in a road accident in front of Jashore college in Shankorpur area of the district town last night.
The deceased was identified as Limon Hossain, 27, son of Osman Ali, resident of Muroli Moor area of the town.
The accident occurred when a speeding pickup van hit a motorcycle in front of the Jashore College around 8 pm last night, leaving motorcycle rider Limon died on the spot and another injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jashore Kotwali Model Thana Md. Tajul Islam said.
Locals rescued the injured and taken him to Jashore 250-bed hospital.
Later, he has been referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
A case was filed in Jashore Kotwali Model Thana in this connection, the OC said.
