A van driver was killed in a road accident in Jaipurpara area on the Bogura-Rangpur highway in the district town today.
The deceased was identified as Anishar Rahman, 52, son of late Bogar Rahman, a resident of Kaichar area of Fapor union in Bogura Sadar upazila.
The accident occurred in the area when a school bus hit a potato-laden van from behind around 7.30am, leaving the van driver dead on the spot, said Phulbari police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Md. Mujibur Rahman.
Later, police recovered the dead body from the spot and sent it to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College hospital morgue, he said.
Police also seized the school bus but its driver and helper managed to escape.
A case was filed in the connection, he added.
