Jashore: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today arrested a man with three gold bars weighing 397.87 grams during an operation at Putkhali border in Sharsha upazila of the district, a BGB press release said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a patrol team led by Subedar Md Salimulllah Munshi of Khulna Battalion (BGB-21) conducted the drive around 3.00am in Daulatpur Balur Math Post area. The team arrested Md Sujon Hossain, 44, son of Md Rafiqul Islam of Putkhali village, along with his motorcycle.
The authorities discovered the three gold bars hidden in different parts of Sujon Hossain’s body. Following his arrest, a case was filed concerning the incident, and the accused was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. The seized gold bars are being processed for deposit at the Jashore Treasury, the release added.
