Olympic Day 2025 Celebrated with Rallies Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) today observed ‘Olympic Day 2025’, marking the founding anniversary of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), through vibrant rallies held in the capital and seven other divisional cities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BOA, with comprehensive support from the Bangladesh Army, organized the ceremonial rally in Dhaka under the theme “Let’s Move.” The initiative aimed to encourage athletes and the general public to participate in physical exercise and sports while inspiring others to engage in similar activities.

BOA President and Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman graced the event as the chief guest during its inaugural session. The rally commenced at 06:30 am from Bangladesh Shishu Academy, proceeded through Shikkha Bhaban, Bangladesh Secretariat, Zero Point, GPO, and concluded at Gate No. 1 of the National Stadium.

The event witnessed participation from over 2,000 sports enthusiasts, including national-level athletes, trainers, organiz
ers, officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Council, and representatives from various military and civilian organizations. Following the rally, the Bangladesh Army Orchestra hosted an engaging cultural programme at the National Stadium.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman presented special honours and certificates to the Olympians present at the venue. Participants described the event as lively and festive, expressing their gratitude to the BOA and the Bangladesh Army for organizing the celebration.
