Rajshahi: Officials of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) have been urged to deliver sincere, honest, and corruption-free services to transform the bank into a profit-oriented institution and boost the region's agro-based economy. The call came during the 2025 divisional conference for Zonal Managers and senior officials of Rajshahi division held on Wednesday at Brac Learning Centre.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the session was chaired by General Manager Taj Uddin Ahmed and addressed by several key figures, including Chairman Prof Muhammad Ali, Managing Director Wahida Begum, Deputy Managing Director Kazi Abdur Rahman, and General Manager Atiqul Islam. Prof Ali emphasized the importance of prioritizing credit for establishing value-added crop industries and supporting seed production entrepreneurs as a means to address the seed crisis. He also urged stronger efforts to ensure food self-reliance by accelerating credit flow to productive sectors.
Wahida Begum highlighted the necessity of meeting business targets and ensuring quality in banking and lending practices to increase agricultural output. She stressed that credit programs should be need-based and timely, and advocated for the expansion of doorstep banking services for farmers to facilitate easier access to financial resources.
The meeting brought together nine zonal managers, zonal and divisional audit officers, and deputy general managers, who collectively discussed strategies to enhance consumer service efficiency and support regional economic growth.
