Cox’s Bazar: The officer-in-charge (OC) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Fayzul Azim Noman, has been withdrawn from his position at the police station due to alleged involvement in bribery and extortion. He reportedly threatened to file cases against innocent individuals to extract money from them.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the withdrawal of OC Noman comes after a tenure of one month and 28 days at Sadar Thana. This action follows an order from the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Chattogram range, reflecting a response to the serious allegations against him.

Muhammad Rahmat Ullah, the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Cox’s Bazar, confirmed that Noman has been reassigned to the range office. Noman had initially joined Sadar Thana on September 19. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges of addressing corruption within law enforcement agencies.
