Dhaka: The Ministry of Public Administration today issued a notification rescheduling the working hours of government and private offices. The notification stated that the government has fixed the working hours of all government and private offices from Sunday to Thursday between 9 am and 4 pm while Friday and Saturday are weekly holidays. Emergency services will remain out of the purview of the new office schedule.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the instructions of the Cabinet Division specify that the schedule for banks and financial institutions will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with banking services available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In this regard, Bangladesh Bank will take necessary measures. The Supreme Court will issue necessary instructions regarding the determination of court office hours.
For private sector industries, factories, and establishments, working hours will be determined in accordance with the Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006. The Ministry of Labour and Employment will issue necessary instructions in this regard.
