Tangail: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today declared that anyone involved in drug abuse will face legal action, emphasizing that no exceptions will be made.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tuku highlighted the societal threat posed by drug abuse while speaking as the chief guest at a traditional horse race competition held at Chilabari School ground in Dyaina Union under Tangail Sadar upazila. He urged the local administration to adopt a stringent approach to combat drug abuse effectively.
Tuku commended the horse racing event for its role in preserving rural traditions and noted that such initiatives contribute to the vibrancy of Eid celebrations. He also reassured the public that the promises made before the election are being fulfilled progressively. The state minister emphasized that development activities will align with public demand, and efforts will be made to create employment opportunities for unemployed youth.
The event was inaugurated by Tangail district BNP President Hasanuzzaman Shahin, with the state minister's spouse Sayma Parveen Simmi attending as a special guest. Shahjahan Siraj, Senior Vice-President of Dyaina Union BNP, chaired the event. Following the competition, prizes were distributed to the winners by the state minister.
