Dhaka: No proposal over the construction of 9,000 square feet flats for ministers has been placed before the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase, said Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the adviser stated that he has not encountered any such proposal and expressed confusion about the origin of the information. He emphasized that no proposal of this nature has been submitted to the Purchase Committee. These comments were made following a meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase and the Committee on Economic Affairs at the Secretariat.
The adviser clarified that any project involving significant expenditure would need to be reviewed by the Purchase Committee. He reiterated that the matter has not been discussed at the committee level in response to media reports on the proposed flat construction.
When questioned by journalists about the reported initiative originating from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, the adviser noted that any proposal of this magnitude must follow the appropriate process. He stated that while the ministry might be preparing something at their level, he has not seen any such proposal presented at the committee meetings he attends.
