Dhaka: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today declared that there would be no compromise with the Awami League, labeling it as a fallen fascist group. Rizvi made these remarks while paying tribute at the graveyard of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi urged party members to remain vigilant and prevent any shifts in allegiance by those who have previously collaborated with the Awami League. Accompanied by leaders from the new convener committees of Pirojpur and Barguna district BNP, he emphasized the importance of unity within the party.

Rizvi highlighted the ongoing conspiracies against the BNP, stressing the need to strengthen the party at the grassroots level to secure support for the Sheaf of Paddy (Dhaner Shish) in upcoming elections. He criticized the government’s handling of a recent incident in New York, attributing it to a lack of competence.

Commenting on allegations of an assault on BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in New York, Rizvi denied the occurrence of any such incident, dismissing them as false propaganda. He further criticized the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for its ineffectiveness in recovering stolen assets and addressing corruption.

Rizvi praised the leadership of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, acknowledging their significant contributions to the party. He highlighted Tarique Rahman’s role in organizing the party and mobilizing the youth for democratic struggles, asserting that his efforts would remain an integral part of BNP’s history.

The event was attended by several BNP leaders, including Barguna District BNP convener Nazrul Islam Molla and member secretary Humayun Hossain Shahin, Pirojpur District BNP convener Nazrul Islam Khan, and member secretary Saidul Islam.
