Rangpur: Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam has emphasized the irreplaceable role of sports and physical exercise in fostering the healthy mental development of children. “Children are our future. We have to pave the way for normal and healthy growth of our children to make them competent and talented citizens for building a prosperous new Bangladesh free from discrimination,” he highlighted during a recent event.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Shahidul Islam, who also serves as the Rangpur City Corporation Administrator, made these remarks while laying the foundation stone for the Chikley Children’s Park in Sagar Para. This new park, designed with modern facilities, aims to cater to the recreational needs of children, teenagers, and other city residents, thereby enhancing their access to entertainment.
The Rangpur City Corporation is funding the development of Chikley Children’s Park from its own resources. The park will feature an array of modern and attractive rides to engage children. The initiative represents a significant step towards promoting outdoor activities and ensuring a supportive environment for the community’s youth.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony was attended by notable figures from the Rangpur City Corporation, including Chief Executive Officer Umme Fatima, Secretary Jayshree Rani Roy, Chief Property Officer Mousumi Afrida, Chief Revenue Officer Tanjila Tasnim, Superintending Engineer Md Azom Ali, and Urban Planner Md Nazrul Islam.
