Nine Arrested with Arms and Drugs in Cumilla Joint Operation

Cumilla: Nine people, including members of a teenage gang, have been arrested in a joint operation conducted by the Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Cumilla. Lieutenant Commander Mahmudul Hasan, the commanding officer of RAB-11 in Cumilla, stated that during the operation, both local and foreign weapons, as well as drugs, were seized.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are Md. Rubel, 35, Md. Akib Hossain, 29, Md. Sajjad Hossain, 47, Md. Shahadat Hossain, 28, Md. Saiful Islam, 19, Md. Imran Hossain Ratan, 19, Md. Mozahid, 21, Humayun Kabir, 45, and Md. Rafiul Alam Shafi, 20. All of them are residents of Cumilla city and South Sadar upazila.

The items seized from the arrested individuals include a 9mm pistol, four rounds of bullets, a revolver, Yaba tablets, foreign liquor, a laptop, and locally-made weapons. The joint operation by the Army and RAB to counter these teen gangs began last night and continued until this morning.

Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway at the police station.
