Nine Arrested in Connection with Robbery at Fatullah DPDC Power Substation

Fatullah: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested nine individuals from Demra, Sarulia, and Fatullah for their involvement in a robbery at an under-construction DPDC power substation in Fatullah, Narayanganj.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals include the alleged ringleader Md Liton (37), along with Akter Hossain (44), Roman (32), Riaz (38), Saidul Islam (31), Rafiqul Islam (28), Sagar Munshi (38), Md Arif (26), and Shahidul (40).



The arrests were made during separate raids conducted in Dhaka’s Demra and Sarulia, as well as Fatullah in the Narayanganj district, as stated in a press release. During these operations, authorities seized looted equipment and the truck used in the robbery, along with two toy pistols, two knives, a machete, and 12 mobile phones.



The robbery took place on Sunday at the DPDC power substation in Fatullah, where the robbers held the security guards at gunpoint and looted electrical equipment valued at approximately Tk 65 lakh.
