Madaripur: An NGO worker lost his life when a private car collided with his motorcycle on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Rajoir upazila on Sunday morning. The accident occurred in dense fog conditions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victim was identified as Sumon Sardar, a 31-year-old resident of Tulasar village in Shariatpur sadar upazila. Sumon was employed as a field organizer at the Rajoir branch of Shariatpur Development Society, an NGO.
The tragedy took place around 8:00 am in the Samaddar area when a speeding car struck Sumon’s motorcycle, resulting in critical injuries. He was immediately taken to the Rajoir Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician pronounced him dead.
Rajoir Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Sheikh Md. Aminul Islam, confirmed the incident. He stated that legal proceedings related to the accident are currently underway.
