Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasized today that the upcoming national election must proceed according to the schedule set by the Chief Adviser. “Those trying to delay the election are afraid of the people’s verdict,” Fakhrul asserted during a views-exchange meeting held at Bhaular Hat High School ground in Raipur union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila this evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul took a critical stance against the former Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, urging her to return to the country and engage in politics if she possesses the courage to do so. Fakhrul reiterated BNP’s commitment to public welfare, promising significant developments in Thakurgaon, including a university, medical college, and an Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
He further highlighted the pledge made by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to create one crore jobs within 15 months, urging the public to support BNP by voting for the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol to save the country. The meeting was presided over by Raipur Union BNP President Tofazzal Hossain and was well-attended by district and local BNP leaders and activists, along with a large number of people from various sectors of society.
