Newborn’s Body Discovered in Cardboard Box at Jurain Graveyard

Dhaka: Police have recovered the body of a one-day-old baby boy from inside a cardboard box at Jurain graveyard in the capital. Members of Shyampur Police Station made the discovery on Thursday afternoon after receiving information, as confirmed by Sub-Inspector Selim Reza.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the infant’s body was found inside a paper carton, abandoned within the graveyard premises. Authorities are currently unable to identify who left the newborn there. In an effort to trace those involved, police are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras.



The body has been sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College for an autopsy. Meanwhile, legal proceedings are underway to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
