Jashore: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit emphasized the importance of educating the new generation about the patriotism and integrity of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. He advocated for creating opportunities for young people to read books written about the late leader during a discussion organized by the Jashore district BNP and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at the party office at Laldighi Par, commemorating the 45th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aninda highlighted Ziaur Rahman’s enduring legacy, stating, “Ziaur Rahman lives in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh. Not only the people of this country, but people across the world know about his patriotism and integrity. That is why, despite carrying out countless propaganda campaigns against the Zia family and BNP, the head of the previous fascist government, Sheikh Hasina, could not raise any question about the integrity of martyred Zia.”
The State Minister also mentioned that the main slogan of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, “Bangladesh First,” has resonated with the citizens, enabling the BNP to secure the government with a substantial majority. He reiterated the current government’s commitment to building a self-reliant and developed Bangladesh by prioritizing national interest.
In observance of Ziaur Rahman’s martyrdom anniversary, the district BNP and its associate organizations conducted various programs in Jashore. The day’s events included the recitation of the Holy Quran, a voluntary blood donation drive, food distribution to the underprivileged, and a discussion meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Jashore district BNP President Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, with BNP Central Committee Vice-Chairman Professor Nargis Begum attending as a special guest. Other notable speakers included Jashore district BNP General Secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon and leaders from the district BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and other affiliated organizations.
The event concluded with a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the soul of martyred Zia and the welfare of the country and the nation.
