New Commuter Train Service Launches on Dhaka-Narsingdi-Bhairab Route

Dhaka: Bangladesh Railway (BR) will run one pair of new commuter trains on the Dhaka-Narsingdi-Bhairab Bazar-Dhaka route from March 26 next. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways, inaugurated the new train-service at Kamalapur Rail Station in the capital by welcoming the Narsingdi Commuter-1, which will come from Bhairab Bazar.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Narsingdi Commuter-1 train will leave Bhairab Bazar at 7:45 am and reach Dhaka at 9:05 am. The train will stop at Daulatkandi, Methikanda, Narsingdi, Arikhola, Tongi, Dhaka Airport, Dhaka Cantonment, and Tejgaon stations.



On the return journey, the Narsingdi Commuter-4 train will depart from the capital’s Kamalapur Railway Station at 6:30 pm and reach Bhairab Bazar at 9:10 pm. It will make stoppages at Tejgaon, Dhaka Airport, Tongi, Pubail, Arikhola, Narsingdi, and Methikanda.



Tickets for both commuter trains will be issued from the respective counters. At the same time, the rakes of the Narayanganj commuter train will be replaced with 11 upgraded coaches on March 26 aiming to facilitate the comfortable travel of passengers.
