Dhaka: Four newly appointed members of the BNP’s National Standing Committee have pledged to work towards strengthening Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s leadership and implementing the party’s election manifesto. The commitment was made during a tribute to Shaheed President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, as well as the party’s longest-serving chairperson, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday morning.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, one of the newly appointed Standing Committee members, emphasized the government’s commitment to building the country based on the BNP’s political philosophy. Rizvi expressed a mix of apprehension and joy about the responsibilities entrusted to them, acknowledging their commitment to fulfilling these duties with sincerity.
Rizvi highlighted that all four members began their political journeys from student politics and pledged to uphold the party’s ideology while serving on its highest policymaking forum. He expressed confidence in their ability to organize, strengthen, and advance the party.
Amanullah Aman, another new committee member, spoke about bridging gaps between the party, the government, and the people, crediting Tarique Rahman and public efforts for restoring voting rights and overcoming fascism. Aman stressed their dedication to implementing the Prime Minister’s announced programs, regardless of the challenges.
Farhad Halim Doner, also newly appointed, praised Tarique Rahman for moving forward with greater speed than his father during his time in office. Doner noted that the implementation of election manifesto commitments had already begun and expressed their collective responsibility to advance these programs.
Ismail Zabiullah, the fourth new member, affirmed the BNP’s role as the bearer of a longstanding political tradition. He emphasized the importance of unity in reaching their goals and acknowledged the government’s progress in implementing the election manifesto.
BNP leaders Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, along with other leaders and activists from BNP-affiliated organizations, attended the event. The four leaders were appointed to the BNP’s National Standing Committee on August 15.
