Nepal-India Art Expo kicks off

An exhibition of paintings by Nepali and Indian artists began in Naxal on Monday. The exhibition is jointly organised by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre, Embassy of India.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava inaugurated the expo titled ‘Ramayan: Common Heritage’.

On the occasion, they said such exhibition would help contribute in exchange of culture of the two countries.

Similarly, Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Narad Mani Hartamchhali expressed the belief that art exhibitions organized collaborating with other countries would help promote tourism along with cultural exchange.

Member-Secretary of the Academy, Devendra Thumkeli, shared that the Academy has been conducting its activities not only in the country but also abroad.

Five paintings of four Nepali artists and 42 paintings of 30 Indian artists have been put on display in the expo that will run till September 30.
