Nepal defeats Bhutan to qualify for semi-finals of SAFF Championship

Nepal has entered the semi-finals of the SAFF U-17 Championship football tournament by defeated hosts Bhutan.

In the last match of Group B held at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Nepal came from behind to defeat Bhutan by 2-1 to book a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Host Bhutan took the first lead after Chhimi Tobden Dorji scored in the 43rd minute. But Nepal’s Krishna Bahadur scored a goal in the 56th to make it 1-1 and Sujan Dangol, scored in the 85th minute to give Nepal a victory and a place in the last four.

With the win, Nepal reached the semi-finals as the runner-up of Group B after collecting 6 points from three matches. Nepal will now play Group ‘A’ winner India in the semi-final to be held on September 28.

Health Minister Paudel, Maldivian Health Minister, Khaleel meet

Kathmandu, Sept 25: Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel and Health Minster of Maldives, Abdhulla Khaleel held a meeting in Indonesia today.

Paudel is in Jakarta, Indonesia to attend the Fifth Ministerial Meeting and 12th High-Level Officials Meeting of the Asia Pacific Regional Forum on Health and Environment.

During the meeting, they discussed about exchange of cooperation in health sector between Nepal and Maldives, according to Minister Paudel’s Secretariat.

Recalling that Nepal doctors are contributing to health sector of Maldives, Minister Paudel shared that experience of standard health service of Maldives would be useful for Nepal.

On the occasion, Minister Khaleel lauded the contribution of Nepali citizens in health sector of Maldives, and proposed to launch post graduate educational programme.

In response, Health Minster Paudel expressed commitment to forward process after necessary preparations n this regard.
