Dhaka: National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary today said that NCP would work earnestly to create 'investment heaven' in the country in the coming days. "We invite the global investors to join the 'investment heaven' of the country as the fellow passengers and we've assured them that with the hands of NCP, Bangladesh will become a developed country," he said at a press briefing at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital this afternoon on the last day of the Investment Summit 2025.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the World Bank's 'Doing Business' report, Bangladesh has secured 168th position out of 190 countries in terms of ease of doing business. The NCP will take the country in the list of top 50 countries in the future while the party has assured the foreign investors in this regard.
Patwary said the global businessmen showed their keen interest in several sectors including renewable energy, blue economy, and healthcare. The foreign countries showed their concerns that many financial institutions became bankrupt due to money laundering over the last 15 years, he said.
In this regard, he said the NCP will bring down the Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) to below 10 percent from the current level. The NCP leader said they would stand beside the businessmen and the investors no matter they stay in office or in the opposition party in the days to come.
About polity continuity, he said the NCP would work sincerely so that business policies would not be changed at the state level following the changeover of power. He said the NCP would propose an 'All party economy council' to ensure the country's economic stability.
"We'll elevate the country's FDI inflow to $15 billion from the current inflow of $1.3 billion," he said. He said the NCP would work in a collective manner with all to put an end to the tradition of bribery, bureaucratic tangles, and indiscipline in maintaining law and order in the country.
"NCP will create many opportunities for the businessmen and ensure political commitment for smooth business operations," he ended. NCP Joint Convener Mahabub Alam and its Joint Member Secretary Shagufta Bushra Mishma were present, among others, on the occasion.
