Banglamotor: The National Citizen Party (NCP) has strongly condemned and protested the harassment of its Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and the act of throwing eggs at him upon his arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, addressing a press conference at the party’s central office in Banglamotor, NCP Convener Nahid Islam demanded punishment for those responsible for the security failure. He emphasized the swift granting of bail to accused individuals in Bangladesh’s ordinary courts, which allows them to roam freely and threaten the families of martyrs and those injured in the July uprising.

Nahid Islam expressed concerns over such incidents occurring abroad, stressing the government’s responsibility to address the situation by removing those who still align with fascism and holding them accountable. He also called for the removal of individuals allegedly appointed during the ‘fascist regime’ from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the publication of the list of five people arrested for the attack on Adviser Mahfuz Alam, and the expeditious trial of those responsible for the July killings.

He further stated, “The Awami League cannot be rehabilitated in politics or elections. Any attempt to bring them back will be rejected by the people,” urging all political forces to unite against fascism and ensure justice through proper trials.

The press conference was attended by Senior Joint Member Secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva, Joint Convener Tajnuva Jabin, Joint Member Secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat, and Joint Member Secretary Abdullah Al-Amin.
