NCP Launches Activities in Khulna with Tribute to Martyr Sakib Raihan

Khulna: The National Citizens’ Party (NCP) officially launched its activities in Khulna today afternoon by paying homage at the grave of martyr Sakib Raihan, who lost his life during the July uprising in the capital.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sheikh Md Sakib Raihan, a student of Baitus Sabuj Madrasha, was fatally shot by police in the capital’s Rupnagar area on July 19, 2024. He was laid to rest at the Basupara graveyard, which was under police guard, on July 20. NCP members gathered at this location in Khulna city to honor his memory and formally commence the party’s activities.



Azizur Rahman, the father of the late Sakib Raihan, along with his family and NCP leaders and activists, attended the event to pray for the soul of the deceased. The event was chaired by NCP member S. M. Arifur Rahman Mithu and conducted by Sajidul Islam Bappy, the central Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.



Several NCP leaders, including Sajidul Islam Bappy, advocate Maftun Ahmed, Sheikh Tarek, Dr. Rizwaan Ahmed, and others, addressed the gathering. They were joined by several hundred individuals, including leaders and activists from different groups, who expressed their commitment to the NCP’s vision of building a better Bangladesh.
