Dhaka: The 28th edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) is set to begin on October 3, as announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) with the release of the complete schedule today. The four-day first-class tournament marks the start of the domestic cricket season 2026-2027, featuring eight divisional teams competing across multiple venues in the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, defending champions Rangpur will commence their title defence against Dhaka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Simultaneously, Sylhet will host Mymensingh at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. In other opening-round fixtures, Khulna will play against Barisal at the Khulna Divisional Stadium, while Chattogram will face Rajshahi at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
The NCL is scheduled to extend over nearly two months, concluding with the final round beginning on November 17. Each team will play a total of seven matches, engaging with every other team once. The team that finishes at the top of the points table will be declared the champion of this edition.
In addition to the four primary venues, matches throughout the season will also be held at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, the Academy Ground of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, and Cox's Bazar Academy Ground.
