Dhaka: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced the withdrawal of existing import and regulatory duties on onion imports. This decision aims to maintain onion prices at an affordable level for the general public.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the NBR has officially issued a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) to implement this change. The total duty on onion imports has been reduced from 10 percent to 0 percent.
NBR anticipates that this action will boost the supply of onions in the market, ensuring that prices remain within reach for common people.
