Dhaka: Officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have decided to withdraw their nationwide shutdown considering the greater interests of trade and commerce and the country’s economy. Hasan Mohammad Tarek Rikabder, president of the NBR Reforms Oikko Parishad, announced the decision at a press conference after a meeting with the country’s leading businessmen at the office of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) in Dhaka this evening.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision to call off the shutdown was reached after discussions with key business figures, highlighting the potential impact such a shutdown could have on the country’s economic activities. The meeting was aimed at finding a resolution that would not hinder the ongoing trade and commerce activities, which are vital for the national economy.
