Dhaka: The central committee of the Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Committee, also known as the Students' Rights Council, has announced its new leadership with Nazmul Hasan taking the position of President and Mohammad Sanaullah Haque as General Secretary.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the committee's approval was confirmed through a statement released on Monday. This statement was signed by the council's advisers and leaders from the Gana Odhikar Parishad, including President Nurul Haque Nur, General Secretary Md Rashed Khan, and spokesperson Hasan Al Mamun.
The committee also includes Senior Joint Vice-President Newaz Khan Bappi and Senior Joint General Secretary Rakibul Islam. Nazmul Hasan, the newly elected President and a student of Dhaka College, emphasized the role the organization played during the July-August mass uprising at educational institutions. He highlighted the committee's involvement in the historic quota reform movement and other democratic efforts, expressing his commitment to making the organization the largest student platform in the country.
Nazmul Hasan previously served as the General Secretary of the central committee, while Mohammad Sanaullah was the convener of the Dhaka University unit.
